Concept for a tug-o-war.
The idea of a tongue popped into my head the instant I was given this project. The thought of someone getting their tongue stretched, seemed to me, disturbing. To add more dimension to the idea I needed a reason one one would get their tongue pulled.
Then it hit me, freedom of speech seemed like an instance of which one could be threatened to lose a tongue. The little people pulling upon the head represents the conscience and the scissors represent those who are opposed to freedom of speech.
It all boils down to being conscious of what you're saying and knowing when to cut ones losses.
